Aridela asked the probing question Are the loud the many? Are the negative the most powerful?

To which I replied back in March of 2013 Yes. Most emphatically yes.

This wasn’t the fault of a couple cantankerous twats on the internet – the failure of the Hellenic community lies solely with the great silent majority who feed the vitriol by paying attention to it to the exclusion of all else and expect everything to be handed to them with a pretty bow, who avoid having to do any of the work themselves and who shit on and question the motives of anyone who’s trying to make anything happen.

You guys have the numbers and the resources and the vision – what you lack is the will to power and the determination to use it. This sad psychodrama is just going to keep playing itself out over and over again until that changes.

And it can change at Fishkill.

All it requires is some polytheist leaders to step forward – with the support of their communities.

As any good Fascist will tell you the leader is the servant of the people, the manifest expression of their collective will.

If you don’t think of yourself as a leader but care about changing things show it with your wallet.

There are a lot of smart, idealistic, and devoted folks who would love to come to this event and could make a real difference through their presence but are in danger of not being able to because they lack the financial means – often because of the work they’re doing for their gods and community.

One person alone may not be able to afford this (and we kept the costs as low as possible, just transportation, lodging and food with Galina and I absorbing everything else) but four or five people, each contributing a modest sum could manage it.

So here’s a challenge.

If you’re considering attending but don’t know where you’re going to get the money to do so swallow your pride and ask. Make a case for what you hope to learn from and contribute to this enterprise and ask people who share that vision to donate.

Do it at your blog, do it here in the comments, do it anywhere folks are likely to hear you …

And everyone else, give what you can. Even if you can just manage a couple bucks – that adds up pretty quickly if enough people are doing it.

I’ll leave the comments to this post open to facilitate the process and I’ll post links to any requests I come across.

Let’s make this happen, together.
