I need to raise some funds for a couple devotional projects I’ve got coming up (on which more anon; I would also like to remind folks that I offer various services to the community) so I’m going to write a book about Dionysian Women.
“I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger than reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.” (Anaïs Nin)
Through fiction, poetry and other literary genres (including, possibly, a play) I want to tell stories of the following:
1. Sterope
2. Edith and Katherine
3. Paculla Annia
4. Phryne
5. Karya
6. Medullina
8. Eve
9. Spartacus’ Wife
10. Thero
11. Lucy
12. Kleopatra
13. Arachne
14. Erigone
15. Medeia
16. Ariadne
Note: Dionysian Women is subject to change without warning.
While I am, indeed, hopeful that copies of this tome will sell well I want to try an experiment!
Rather than posting them here as I write them, or even setting up a complicated system like Patreon, I am going to experiment with a subscription service. If you’re interested in getting a sneak peek at this work while it’s in progress write me an e-mail and I’ll put you on a list. Once each story is finished I’ll send out a notice to the list with a sample and if you’d like to get the rest of it you can Paypal me whatever amount you wish and in return you will receive the complete story. (While $5-25 is the recommended donation range, I’ll happily accept even $1 for this.) If you purchase all sixteen I’ll include your name alongside other special patrons in the book’s dedication page and send you a personally signed copy once it’s been published. One-time donations are also accepted; those over $100 will get the patron package.
I’ll begin working on the book on October 7th as a way of honoring our Bacchic Martyrs, so you have a little time to decide.
The address sannion@gmail.com may be used both for correspondence and Paypal.
